Footage shows armoured vehicles driving through water, Mi-35 helicopters circling, and a convoy driving over a temporary bridge to deliver humanitarian aid, according to the drill scenario.The video also features soldiers taking part in a dumbbell lifting competition.
"I would like to have more such events, of course. <…> The emotions of all the guys are unforgettable. I think it will be remembered for a long time," said one serviceman, Leon Kharitonchik.
The active phase of the CSTO drills is scheduled for October 1-5.
Military units from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan are taking part in the exercise. According to the CSTO press service, the drills feature more than 2,000 troops, 500 units of armoured and motor vehicles, Mi-17 and Mi-35 helicopters, Il-76 and Si-295 aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles.
