"Russia and China jointly uphold the principles of a just democratic world order based on international law, sovereignty, and equality. This approach is also supported by like-minded countries of the Global South, the World Majority, which could be seen once again at the BRICS summit," the Russian leader said.
For his part, Wang Yi noted that Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping were setting the tone for close China-Russia relations.
"Under your leadership, our relations have consistently maintained high momentum, making China and Russia the most important factor in strengthening multilateralism in the world," the minister emphasised.
The meeting of high-ranking security officials of BRICS and BRICS+ countries takes place in St. Petersburg on September 10-12.
