Russian President Vladimir Putin was seen arriving in Ulaanbaatar on Monday for his first official state visit since 2019.

Footage shows the Russian leader's plane landing at the airport in Mongolia's capital. He can also be seen exiting the plane, walking down the ramp and exchanging greetings with the welcoming committee.

The Kremlin press service said that Putin arrived in Ulaanbaatar at the invitation of Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurlsukh to participate in events dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the joint victory of Soviet and Mongolian armed forces over Japanese militarists on the Khalkhin Gol River.

Putin is expected to hold talks with chairman of Mongolia's State Great Khural Dashzegviin Amarbayasgalan and the country's Prime Minister Luvsannamsrain Oyun-Erdene.
