Moscow's Basmanny District Court on Saturday arrested Konstantin Gabov, a producer of the Reuters news agency, until 27 June on charges of allegedly participating in an 'extremist community'.
Footage shows the defendant in the dock in the courtroom.
"The Reuters news agency's producer of the news service is accused of committing a crime under part two of Article 282.1 of the Russian Criminal Code (participation in an extremist community)," the Moscow City Court of General Jurisdiction said in a statement.
According to the press service, Gabov took part in preparing photo and video material for publication on the NavalnyLIVE YouTube channel, which belongs to the Anti-Corruption Foundation (ACF), an organisation which has been banned and liquidated in Russia.
