Description

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea’s (DPRK) leader Kim Jong-un presented Russian President Vladimir Putin with gifts in honour of his historic state visit to Pyongyang, including a bust carved from white stone and a portrait of the Russian leader set against the backdrop of fireworks over Red Square.

Footage captured on Wednesday shows Putin viewing the presents and chatting with his DPRK counterpart.

Putin arrived in Pyongyang on Tuesday for a two-day official visit. The trip culminated with the signing of a landmark mutual defence partnership, a pact which would see 'mutual assistance' in the event of any 'aggression' against either country.

This visit marked the Russian president's second trip to the DPRK. In 2000 he met with the current leader's father and predecessor, Kim Jong Il.

Following his visit to DPRK, Putin traveled to Hanoi at the invitation of Nguyen Phu Trong, Secretary General of the Vietnamese Communist Party's Central Committee.
