The Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft carrying the 21st expedition crew - the first Belarusian cosmonaut Marina Vasilevskaya, Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky and NASA astronaut Tracy Dyson - successfully docked with the International Space Station (ISS) on Monday.

Footage features ISS crew members warmly greeting the new arrivals.

"We are here, we are happy. We're feeling great, we love you all very much, sending you hugs. Thank you for supporting us, it feels very good and gives us enormous strength," Vasilevskaya said.

Meanwhile, NASA astronaut Tracy Dyson said that the flight to the ISS was 'an incredible journey' although they didn't expect it to last quite so long.

"But we're grateful for the time together because we know - now that we are here, we are going to get started with some work. So it's great to be here, it's great to be working with all of you, and we're just thankful for all of your support," she added.

On March 23, the Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft was successfully launched via a Soyuz-2.1a rocket. It followed an aborted takeoff due to an issue with the chemical power source days earlier. It marked the fourth takeoff of a Russian launch vehicle this year.
