Description

Specialists of Russia's Rosatom State Corporation continue construction of the El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) in Egypt, as seen in drone footage captured on Monday.

El-Dabaa NPP site is located in Matrouh Province on the Mediterranean Sea coast, 350 kilometres from Cairo.

The construction of the NPP with Russia's participation was officially launched in July 2022.

The NPP will include four power units with Russian VVER-1200 units, making Egypt the only country in the region with Generation 3+ reactors.

Earlier in the day, the Kremlin press service announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi would take part in a videoconference ceremony to mark the start of pouring concrete into the foundation of the fourth unit of the El-Dabaa NPP on Tuesday.
