The Chinese delegation left Beijing on Thursday, bound for Russia's Sirius Federal Territory and the 2024 World Youth Festival.
Footage shows students from various universities of the People's Republic of China preparing to depart from the capital's airport, carrying festival paraphernalia.
"I'm in a great mood because I've always wanted to see Sochi. And this time we not only have a full programme, but also the opportunity for cultural exchange," said Chen Ziyun, a student at the Beijing Foreign Studies University.
Another festival participant, Cao Zhengyang, said she planned to share her experiences with other international students at the event.
"First of all, of course, I want to meet and make friends from all over the world, that's very important. It is interesting to listen to their opinions and at the same time to share my own. Secondly, if it is possible to meet the President of Russia [Vladimir Putin], that would be great," the girl added.
The World Youth Festival will be held from 1-7 March 2024, to develop international youth co-operation and to bring together 20,000 young people. The regional programme will take place from 10-17 March 2024, during which the participants will visit 30 Russian cities.
