Footage shows Putin descending the aeroplane ramp, shaking hands, and chatting with Kim Jong Un. The two leaders then walked together past servicemen before entering the presidential motorcade.

Putin's official visit to Pyongyang, scheduled for June 18-19, comes at Kim Jong Un's invitation. During the visit, they are set to discuss various topics, including the economy, energy, agriculture, trade, international relations, and security.

This visit marks Putin's second trip to DPRK; his first was in 2000 when he met Kim Jong Un's father and predecessor, Kim Jong Il. Following his visit to Pyongyang, Putin will travel to Hanoi at the invitation of Nguyen Phu Trong, Secretary General of the Vietnamese Communist Party's Central Committee.
