Participants of the World Youth Festival 2024 were filmed performing a 'Friendship Round Dance', claimed to have been the largest multinational round dance, in Russia's Sirius Federal Territory on Tuesday.
The footage features young men and women holding hands and performing the round dance accompanied by Russian folk music, as well as posing for photographs.
According to event organisers, about 2,000 people took part in the Russian folk dance with 73 nationalities from more than 150 countries among them. This was confirmed as the world record for 'The Most Multinational Friendship Round Dance' by the International Records Registration Agency.
The World Youth Festival takes place on March 1-7. According to the organisers, it intends to develop international youth co-operation and bring together 20,000 young people. The regional programme will take place on March 10-17, during which the participants will visit 30 Russian cities.
