Description

Two residents of Lobnya in Moscow Region visited their local polling station wearing masks of US President Joe Biden and his Republican rival Donald Trump, to vote in the Russian presidential election on Sunday.

Footage shows 'Biden' and 'Trump' outside the polling station, registering to vote and entering polling booths.

"We came with Donald [Trump] to see your election, so to speak," said the one in the Biden mask.

"A real democratic election," added 'Trump', while 'Biden' also said that 'we have a lot to learn from you'.

Both had to remove their masks in order to confirm their eligibility, according to the local administration.

The Russian Central Election Commission stated that voter turnout in the presidential election stood at 70.47 percent at time of publication, including remote electronic voting.

Russia's presidential election takes place over three days on March 15-17, with early voting between February 25 and March 14.

The four candidates are Leonid Slutsky of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR), the Communist Party's Nikolai Kharitonov, Vladislav Davankov of the New People Party, and incumbent President Vladimir Putin, running as an independent candidate.
