The World Youth Festival 2024 (WYF) opened its doors at the Sirius Federal Territory on Friday.

Footage shows participants from around the world coming together to celebrate diversity while embracing the customs and practices of different nations.

The video also highlights the festival's vibrant concert programme, featuring performances on the grand stage of the World Youth City. The stage serves as a platform for artists and performers to showcase their talents.

A delegate from China said he was inspired by the event’s atmosphere and even recited a poem by his favourite Russian writer and poet, Alexander Pushkin.

A second participant from Switzerland expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended to him at Sirius.

"Russian people are very, very friendly, and if you need something to help, they will always help you, and if you have something you can ask everyone, and everyone will try to help you," he said.

The World Youth Festival will be held from 1-7 March 2024, to develop international youth co-operation and to bring together 20,000 young people. The regional programme will take place from 10-17 March 2024, during which the participants will visit 30 Russian cities.

The Sirius 'Innovation Science and Technology Centre' is the first federal territory in Russia located on the Black Sea coast near the city of Sochi.
