Putin arrived in the Vietnamese capital on Wednesday for a two-day official visit at the invitation of Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The last time the Russian president travelled to the republic was in 2017, when he attended the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation summit in Da Nang.

Earlier, Putin visited Pyongyang and held talks with DPRK (Democratic People's Republic of Korea) leader Kim Jong-un.
