Vast numbers of Dutch football fans were seen in Leipzig on Friday as European heavyweights the Netherlands and France went head-to-head in a UEFA EURO 2024 Group D clash of titans.

Footage shows a sea of orange as thousands of fans marched towards the Red Bull stadium amid clouds of coloured smoke alongside a double-decker bus.

"If there are a few players that can step up their game just a little bit more, I think we can take the victory to France," a Dutch fan said.

Meanwhile, French supporters gathered at the 'Casa Bleue' fans house. They sang their national anthem and chanted in support of star player Kylian Mbappe, who looked destined to stay on the bench with a broken nose.

"Unfortunately, for us French fans, our captain, our main player, is not playing," a French fan said. "With Kante and Griezmann, I think we'll have the right balance. We're really confident."

The match concluded in a stalemate, 0-0, with both teams failing to break the deadlock. Despite Mbappe's absence, France managed an impressive 16 shots on goal, but the Dutch defence stood firm.

France will face Poland in their next group-stage game in Dortmund on Tuesday, while the Netherlands will take on Austria in Berlin as both sides look to book their place in the round of 16.
