Iran's reformist presidential candidate Masoud Pezeshkian told supporters he was not 'dependent on money…authority or power' but was only 'dependent on you and the people of Iran', during his final campaign rally at Haydernia Stadium in Tehran on Wednesday.

It came ahead of Friday's runoff with conservative Saeed Jalili.

"I am one of you, I have no superiority over any of you. I was destined to come here. You are trying (campaigning) for me so I can stand up and defend your rights. I promise you that I will protect the rights of all careers, all genders, all ethnicities, all classes, and all those who live in this country with all my heart,' Pezeshkian continued.

Footage also shows supporters gathering around Pezeshkian as he arrived at the stadium, while other supporters were seen waving green flags with Pezeshkian's name written on them.

'I don't expect a miracle, because a miracle will not happen," said supporter Maryam Bagherzadegan. "[Former leader] Ahmadinejad came and caused serious damage [to the economy], we still have the aftershocks...We don't expect a miracle from Mr Pezeshkian, we are satisfied with a ray of light, and we are also satisfied with a 10-20 percent improvement in the situation."

The runoff was triggered after no candidate received more than 50 percent of the votes on June 28. In the first round Pezeshkian led with 10.4 million - or around 42 percent - with Jalili close behind on 9.4 million - 39 percent - of the 24.5 million votes cast.

The elections were called after former president Ebrahim Raisi, foreign minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and others were killed in a helicopter crash in May.
