Hundreds of fans of the Uruguay and Panama national football teams flocked to the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami to watch their teams play in the 2024 Copa America on Sunday.

Footage features supporters wearing team-coloured clothes, waving Uruguayan and Panamanian flags, dancing, drumming, and cheering.

"My expectation is that Panama is supposed to win. We want to win this; we want to score the goal, at least 2-0 or 1-0. My expectation is so big for Panamanians because we have all the fans that came to Miami," expressed Sofia Bruester, a Panamanian supporter.

"Very nice to be able to share with our Uruguayan brothers and sisters, with all the people from Panama who live here in the United States, and that has helped us win," shared Jonathan Rodriguez, another Panamanian fan.

"I was born in the United States, but my parents came from Uruguay, and I have been living here for 24 years. And we just came here to support Uruguay against Panama today, hoping they win," said Sharlene Mosqueira, a Uruguay supporter.

Macarena Gonzalez, another Uruguay fan, claimed: "I come from Uruguay, from Punta del Este, far away, only for 12 days, and I come to take the cup."

Ultimately, Uruguay beat Panama 3-1, rising to the top of Group C.

The 2024 Copa America, dubbed 'Vibra el Continente' ('Rocking the Continent'), is the 48th edition of the tournament. It gathers 16 national teams from South America's football ruling COMMEBOL and North-Central America's body CONCACAF.
