Dozens of Colombian football fans showed love and support for James Rodriguez, also known as 'James', considered one of the outstanding talents that Colombia's ever witnessed, ahead of the La Liga tie between Rayo Vallecano and Atletico Madrid in the Spanish capital on Sunday.

Footage shows several merch stands selling scarfs bearing James' face outside Vallecano's home stadium Campo de Futbol de Vallecas, while the supporters were seen wearing Colombian shirts and jerseys with player's name.

"Always supporting James wherever he goes, always supporting Colombia and James, who always represents us. He is the best left foot we have ever had. James Rodriguez," shared a fan.

"He is my idol, and he will always be the best, he will always be the best for everyone, for all of Colombia," added another.

Another supporter praised James' performances during the Copa America tournament in July, where he cruised the Colombian team to the final and only lost to Argentina, adding that he came to see Vallecano 'because James is in the team.'

The match between Vallecano and Atletico ended with a 1-1 draw, as skipper Isi Palazon draw first blood for the home side, before English midfielder Conor Gallagher scored in the early second half to settle the final result. James was subbed in at the 73rd minute, replacing Angolan striker Randy Nteka.

James is currently captain of the Colombian national football team. Regarded as one of the best attacking midfielders of his generation, the Colombian maestro used to play for football giants such as Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, and claimed the Golden Boot award in the World Cup 2014 tournament with six goals.
