Protesters gathered in front of the residence of the renowned Lebanese singer Nouhad Wadie' Haddad, known as Fairuz, in Rabieh in the northern part of Greater Beirut, on Monday, to rally as French President Emmanuel Macron paid a visit to the 84-year-old Lebanese singer.
The protest denounced the designation of Mustapha Adib, Lebanon's former ambassador to Germany as Lebanon's next prime minister.
"We don't have to work with the same people again. Mustapha Adib is known for his political orientation and how much he stole and plundered when he was an ambassador," said a protester adding the Lebanese people were wary of foreign interference.
Protesters seemingly pleaded with Macron as he was leaving Fairuz's residence.
This was Macron's second visit to the country after the deadly Beirut port blasts.
