Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said he was "overwhelmed" by his side's Champions League triumph at a post-match press conference from Madrid's Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday.

"Tonight is really emotional. That's my main feeling. It's overwhelming," Klopp told reporters.

"I feel mostly relieved to be honest. Relief for my family actually," he said.

The last six times we flew on holiday with only a silver medal it doesn't feel too cool."

The German coach also said he was looking forward to celebrations in Liverpool on Sunday.

Liverpool beat Spurs 2-0 thanks to an early Mohamed Salah penalty and a late Divock Origi strike. It is the Reds sixth European title, twice as many as any other English team.

Klopp is the fourth Liverpool manager to win the European Cup, after Bob Paisley, Joe Fagan and Rafael Benitez.
