Description

Thirteen-year-old Ali Humaid Al Loughani, a teenage inventor, has become a role model for younger generations in his pursuit of reflecting the youthful efforts of the Emiratis to maintain the UAE's positive image through his inventions that assist elderly and disabled patients.

Footage filmed on Saturday shows Ali in his home in Sharjah, busy working on his inventions. His awards can also be seen adorning his room.

Ali has highlighted his first invention for disabled people, which earned him an award from the Emaar competition. "I was in the competition that I would make something that would help disabled people. And I entered with one of my innovations, the remote operated smart wheelchair using the smart glove," the young inventor said.

He also mentioned that thanks to this, it has become possible for disabled people to control their wheelchair easily, even from a distance of 50 metres.

UAE media outlets reported that Ali Al Loughani won the gold award at the 2024 Silicon Valley International Invention Festival in California in August for his "Doctor Robot" project, inspired by the UAE's national initiative "A Doctor for Every Citizen". He then developed the idea further into "Doctor for Every Family", in a bid to attract the attention of experts and innovators attending the festival.

The Doctor Robot project reportedly relies on the Internet to provide medical consultations and continuous patient monitoring. Doctors can also have free access to the robot at any time to update their patients' records and receive emergency alerts.

Moreover, Ali talked about his future plans, saying, "My future goal actually in our country, first of all, to be one of the men of this country that will leave a mark on the planet, a mark in the world that will actually be positive to everyone. Make my robots more positive, more helpful in our communities."
