At least three people were rescued after a four-storey building attached to the WestBrook Hotel and Offices in the Garki region's Abuja collapsed on Monday.

Footage captured on Tuesday shows the remains of the building that was reportedly under construction prior to its collapse as well as workers clearing debris using excavators and trucks, and assessing the damage.

According to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, the accident happened at around 8:40 pm local time on Monday.

FCT officials responded to the distress call and cordoned off the area to facilitate rescue efforts. The three survivors were rushed to hospital and have since been treated and discharged.

No fatalities have been reported at the time of publication. An investigation into the cause of the collapse is underway, as well as rescue effort to find any others trapped under the rubble.
