Mexico's 'Cachorrilandia' animal shelter has rescued dozens of homeless dogs from Hurricane Beryl in Quintana Roo and brought them to safety.
Footage taken on Saturday shows rescued dogs resting on the floor and in cages at the shelter, surrounded by piles of food and supplies. The dogs can also be seen being transported to the shelter in a van in dark and windy conditions.
'Cachorrilandia,' a dog shelter, confirmed on Facebook that all puppies are safe. They thanked Quintana Roo Governor Mara Lezama and volunteers for their support with funds and supplies.
Authorities have also set up three temporary pet shelters in response to the storm's impact.
This comes after Storm Beryl swept across the Yucatan Peninsula and made landfall in Mexico, where local forecasters reported winds of up to 100 miles per hour. Mexican authorities have issued a 'red alert', indicating that the storm is considered a maximum threat.
