Los Blancos had their final training session at Real Madrid City on Saturday, ahead of the first Mardid derby of the season on matchday 8 of La Liga.

Real travel to their neighbours Atletic Madrid at the Cívitas Metropolitano on Sunday with superstar newcomer Kilian Mbappe ruled out due to injury.

Footage shows the Real Madrid squad performing a warming-up session, followed by fitness and tactical exercises.

“It's going to be an entertaining spectacle because these are top players and great teams,” said Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti at the pre-match press conference.

Ancelotti was asked about the recent complaint from the Atletico camp over 'having 48 hours less rest' than their counterparts following the two rivals' Champions League exertions mid-week.

“Yes, I understand it because it has happened to us many times, and most of them were against Atletico, so I understand it," said Ancelotti.

The Italian tactician was also asked whether he believes his player Vinicius Jnr has done enough to win football's most prestigious individual award -the Ballon d'Or.

"I think he deserves to win for what he has done over the past year, for the effectiveness he has had especially in the Champions League,” he stated, but noted that: “If he doesn't win it, that's fine, we'll go on... He'll go on as well.”
