    Preparations were underway at the US Capitol in Washington DC on Wednesday for the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Joe Biden.

    While construction workers could be seen setting up the stage and the decorations for the event, inside the building the US House of Representatives was set to vote on an impeachment article against the outgoing President Donald Trump.

    The procedure launched by the Democratic Party members is a response to last week's storming of the US Capitol by Trump supporters. Democrats accuse him of encouraging the rioters to attack the Capitol building.
