Abby the hog predicted a draw between EURO 2024 hosts Germany and neighbours Switzerland when they go head-to-head on Sunday after the porcine oracle favoured the Swiss team but stopped short of predicting an away win from her enclosure at Frankfurt Zoo on Friday.

Footage shows Abby the hog dribbling her ball up towards the goal line for each team, before leaving it on the Switzerland half, but short of the goal line.

"We had two red river hogs to choose from, Abby and Helene. We also tested their prediction skills for the German team's friendly match. Abby guessed correctly, which is why we chose her," explained Frankfurt Zoo curator Sabrina Linn.

"So far, she has predicted with 100% success. Let's see how it goes on Sunday. Abby didn't want to predict a win today," she continued.

Even late substitute Helene was unable to convert for a Swiss victory. "We made a substitution, just like in football, and brought on Helene. She also did not predict a victory. In other words, this suggests a draw," the curator explained.

"Of course, we are always happy about a German victory, not just for our team and our country, but because Frankfurt Zoo donates 100 euros to species conservation for each German goal. This means it's also a victory for species conservation," Linn added.

Abby brought home the bacon with her prediction for Germany's opening win against Scotland, as well as last time out against Hungary. Die Mannshaft went on to become the first team to progress to the EURO 2024 knockout stages following a 2-0 win over Hungary, thanks to goals from Jamal Musiala and Ilkay Gundogan.

Earlier today, Dortmund Zoo's Orangutan football prophesier, Walter, predicted Switzerland to chalk up a win against all the odds in Sunday's matchup with the hosts. With Germany expected to rest many of its star players ahead of a Round of 16 clash, a possibility that Walter weighed up carefully when making his prediction.
