Description

Footage filmed on Wednesday shows positions reportedly targeted by Israeli air strikes catching fire in the villages of Kfarchouba and Rachaya Al Foukhar, in the Nabatiye governorate of southern Lebanon. United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) vehicles can be seen patrolling an area in the Marjeyoun district.

The IDF said in a statement that its warplanes bombed what it described as a 'Hezbollah military building and observation post' as well as other infrastructure in the areas of Kfarchouba, Ayta al-Shaab and Khiam in southern Lebanon.

IDF artillery also shelled the areas of Kfarchouba, Shabaa, Kafr Hamam and Matmoura in Marjayoun district, according to the same source.

On Wednesday, Hezbollah announced in separate statements that the settlements of Metulla and Even Menahem and the Barka Risha military site were targeted in response to the Israeli shelling of southern Lebanon.

No information was yet available about injuries or damage.

Hezbollah and Palestinian factions have been exchanging cross-border fire with Israeli forces since 8 October, the day after the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza.
