Hundreds of people gathered in Bengaluru on Friday to celebrate the 10th International Yoga Day and attempt to break a Guinness World Record. The event, marked by participants performing various yoga poses, aimed to highlight the global impact and popularity of yoga.
Footage from the event shows enthusiastic participants engaging in yoga exercises and cheering, while a Guinness World Records representative interacted with some attendees.
"It's really incredible to see how our country and our culture are really, you know, taking the entire world into it, and everyone is so motivated and so inspired by yoga, so it's really wonderful to see that and see our culture spread all over," said Ruchica, one of the event participants.
Abhilash, another participant, shared his newfound appreciation for yoga: "Yoga was never part of my routine, but this event was a ‘stepping stone’ and I will continue the exercises. It's been very beneficial; I mean, I can feel that effect from day one."
Similar events took place across India, celebrating the occasion and promoting the benefits of yoga. The Bengaluru event was part of a broader effort to unite people through yoga and showcase India's rich cultural heritage on the global stage.
