Liverpool fans could be seen filling Plaza Mayor in the Spanish capital as tension ramps up ahead of the big day.
"It's incredible. You couldn't ask for a better location for the final," one Reds fan said, which is in stark contrast to the feelings around the Europa League final which was held in Baku.
Such is the demand to get to Spain, some 9,000 flights are expected to take off from the UK on Friday which would break the record set last year.
While the fans' journeys to Madrid have been filled with excitement, the teams themselves both pulled off miracles, 4-0 against Barcelona and 3-2 against Ajax respectively, to make it to the final hurdle of Europe's premier competition.
Liverpool take on Spurs at Atletico Madrid's Wanda Metropolitano stadium at 21:00 CET, in the Reds' second final in two years and the Londoners' first ever.
