Description

The crew of a yacht could be seen saving a young ringed seal from the jaws of a group of killer whales in Avacha Bay, Kamchatka region on September 6.

Footage taken by sailor Denis Artemov, aboard the 'Princess', shows the orcas circling. Finding itself trapped, the seal swam over to the boat and the crew encouraged her with shouts of 'swim, little one, swim' - as well as a tasty fish - to lure her on board.

With their prey out of reach, the predators swam away and the crew took their latest hitchhiker to safer waters.
