Footage taken by mountaineer Vitalii Radnayev shows the wintry scene, with snow-covered fir trees and the mountains shrouded in fog.
"I climbed up to Love Peak and it's snowing here," he can be heard saying in surprise.
According to the Buryat Centre for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, further rain and snow were expected in the republic's mountains on Monday, with winds strengthening up to 15-24 metres per second and a drop in daytime temperatures.
Love Peak gets its name from an ancient legend, which says that couples climbing the mountain together will see their bond grow stronger.
