A festival dedicated to the culture of the United Arab Emirates took place in the centre of Moscow on Monday on Manezhnaya Square.
Footage shows festival-goers immersing themselves in the traditions of the Middle Eastern country, taking part in masterclasses, sampling local cuisine, studying the latest Arabic fashion and making henna paintings on their skin.
"You can weave a basket or make a fan. We tasted delicious Arabica coffee, [as well as ] oils, and perfume. I bought a dress like this," local resident Elena shared.
According to another festival guest, Naila Sunagatullina, the UAE Culture Days perfectly conveyed the flavour of the Gulf state.
"I was in the [United Arab] Emirates in February this year, almost in all the Emirates, and I thought it would be interesting to see how they would present themselves in a country that has four seasons of the year. And you know, I am pleasantly surprised. The music, the plants, the people, the national culture are fully conveyed," she said.
Organised by the UAE Embassy in Russia in collaboration with the Moscow government, the cultural event runs from 28 June to 2 July.
