According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Lavrov and Yang discussed the issues on the session's agenda and ways to improve the efficiency of the General Assembly's work.
Lavrov arrived in New York on Wednesday to take part in events at the UN General Assembly. Over the first three days, the diplomat held 25 bilateral meetings, including the traditional conversation with the organisation's Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and also took part in multilateral events through the CSTO, BRICS and the Group of Friends in the Defence of the UN Charter. The Minister is scheduled to address the general debate of the 79th session of the General Assembly on Saturday.
