Description

Crews of Russian Black Sea Fleet Su-30SM fighter jets were seen conducting combat missions over the Black Sea on Monday.

Footage shows the pilots operating the fighter jets and flying over the Black Sea sea before landing on a runway.

The crews targeted Ukrainian military drones, unmanned surface vehicles, and amphibious assault units at different altitudes.

"We hit [the targets] from the cannon, as well as from free-fall ammunition and guided weapons. All methods of destroying these targets are effective, and all pilots are trained and ready to carry out [the mission] and destroy the uncrewed boats," a pilot shared.

The serviceman also said that the nighttime patrols were conducted using UAVs and helicopters to obtain the enemy’s coordinates.

"There are also no problems with surface targets at night; they are detected by our helicopters or drones, and we also work successfully according to the coordinates given to us, and we also successfully hit all the targets," he added.

Moscow launched a military offensive in Ukraine in late February 2022 after recognising the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR), claiming that Kiev had failed to guarantee their special status under the 2014 Minsk Agreements, and urging Ukraine to declare itself officially neutral and give assurances that it would never join NATO.

Kiev denounced the Russian action as an invasion. Zelensky imposed martial law throughout the country, announcing a general mobilisation, while the EU and the US imposed several rounds of sanctions on Moscow.
