Description

Law enforcement officers cordoned off Makhachkala streets in Russia's Dagestan on Tuesday following a report of gunfire - which authorities subsequently stated was a false alarm.

Footage shows the emergency services vehicles and police cars on the city's streets.

Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Dagestan received a report of an armed man close to the city centre. After the police and detector dog team thoroughly checked the area, the cordon was lifted.

It came just days after Sunday's series of deadly attacks on churches, synagogues and police posts in the Muslim majority Makhachkala and Derbent.
