Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed interaction with foreign ministers of Pacific small island developing states on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York on Friday.
"We have been using it for quite some time before COVID. Then COVID interfered, but now the health situation has improved. We can resume our offline meetings," Lavrov said.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the ministers discussed the situation in the Asia-Pacific region and issues on the current international agenda, and confirmed the mood to develop cooperation in various areas.
Lavrov arrived in New York on Wednesday to take part in events at the UN General Assembly. The minister is also scheduled to attend several bilateral and multilateral meetings, including those of the CSTO, BRICS, G20 and the Group of Friends for the Defence of the UN Charter.
